From the Fall 2015 collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld. For this collection, Mr. Lagerfeld turned Grand Palais (the regular venue for Chanel fashion shows) into The Brasserie Gabrielle, a staged restaurant where models walked between tables and House's signature accessories featured restaurant-themed details like cutlery and plates.
This jacket in particular was modeled by Chanel's longtime in-house model Amanda Sanchez. The signature features of the original cardigan jacket invented by Coco Chanel can be seen in a new light with grosgrain ribbon framing the jacket, decorating the front pockets and collar. We love the slits on each side that add dynamic. The beautiful camellia pattern silk lining, the chain at the hem, the pretty double-C buttons on each cuff and at the collar, and Chanel Paris buttons at the front closure – we love all the little details on this piece.
Special attention goes to the beautiful fantasy tweed fabric that is put together of dark green, black, dark red, coral, and white threads.
